Learning

I've noticed this one thing while I was thinking how I only "fully" learn my lessons, people have different ways on learning.

Barrera told me before that he can only learn so much if it is explained to him by a good teacher. In other words, he's not good at self-studying. Albios, on the other hand, learns via "Insight Learning", it means instant learning, like the idea just pops in his head and then he gets the whole lesson already [this is no exaggeration]. Albios is officially categorized as "IMBA". I also noticed about our 'Discrete Structures' and 'Probability and Statistics' teacher, Ms. Em Parac, that she learns stuff by totally analyzing the topic. There was a time when there was a problem that she encountered at class. She suddenly stared into deep space like she can actually see through parallel dimensions and see the answers there. But actually, she thought through the problem and found the solution by mere analysis. Wow [with jaws down]! She truly is categorized "IMBA"!

Well, as for me, I've known this for a long time, I think I learn most in the middle of the test. Weird, isn't it? Sometimes, it kind of sucks because there are times when I lose time because of the loading delay. For that, I have discovered a solution. I don't think this works for everyone, but eating "white rabbit" candy in a middle of a test helps for me [I eat 5 of it every Analytic Geometry test. haha!]. It actually makes me think faster than usual.

An example of my learning style is in our Programming test. I didn't really get the whole idea of Structures in C programming, but when we were having our written exam, I actually got the hang of it. It took some loading time and I wasn't able to finish the whole exam. But the lacking ones were small details. I hope it'll be considered. :)

  1. About that "he's not good at self-studying" thing, I think "he's not good at self-studying on things that doesn't interest him" could be a better statement.

I can't say that I'm really not good with self-studying literally because why am I able to understand and memorize the directions and details regarding geography? How am i able to accept General Knowledges that are published on text books if I really don't get anything from self-studying? Even the attitudes, walks-of-life and lifestyle of people, how could I understood them, make reasonable conclusions if I am not good with self-study?

I have really found out that all the things I haven't really understood; that counts if I could have a nosebleed on that topic, are those lessons which I am not interested in the least.

I am just clarifying my side:D

  2. oh c'mon, everyone is "imba" one way or another...that includes you. do you know how great you are at drawing? i can only wish i'm one-fourth as good as you.

  3. Oh, I'm sorry Barrera, what you just said was what I meant. It's common sense that in some ways, people have to self-study right?

Ma'am, It's not really that great. I have seen a lot of works from different artists. Sometimes I feel really inferior, but I don't mind since I STILL really am.
Pero ma'am, I wish I could think even one-half as fast as you. This means I have to train more. The way you think fast makes me feel how really young I still am. Marami pa akong bigas na kakainin. Ahahaha~!

  4. Scratch that!

No need to feel sorry. LOL!

And that is also what I meant. common sense. haha:))

And I agree with ma'am em on one side. Even you say, you feel inferior to others, its that reason what makes you "imba" on ur field of drawing. Though your not good compared to those expert artists, well, your even far enough to be reached by us.

On your side, I really can relate to albios' obsession on miss.. HAHA! well, maam idol jud ka nmu! hihi.=]]

cum laude ka mam? if not, ngano ang ing.ana ka bryt preha nmu, way titulo sa kolehiyo? hahaha:))

  5. olibz, you're probably a kinesthetic learner; you learn by more easily by doing.

barrera, you're probably an auditory learner; you learn by more easily by listening.

as for me, it has been proven and tested (many times) that i'm a visual learner. everything--processes, abstract concepts, ideas, etc.--have visual representations in my head so when i'm "analyzing", i'm actually looking at a picture in my mind.

  6. haha.

now, i realized why you are funnily staring at some void when we deliver a question and after a few SECONDS, it's like a "EUREKA!" and you'll write it quickly in front of the white board.

    hahaha:))

i really am amazed of what people can do with their best skills.

so, inferiority is a garbage problem that needs to be disposed. it will only cause problems. xD

  8. I don't understand how I learn. T.T
    Sometimes, I learn, sometimes I don't. Life.

Solutions always come when THEY want to.
